Trying to find some good places to eat in Ellicottville? Well in this post I will be giving my full honest review about Ellicottville Brewing Company in Ellicottville NY.
Even though I love cooking and being creative in the kitchen one thing I also really enjoy is visiting new restaurants. I have explored a lot of different restaurants good and bad. Here I want to share with you some of my personal experiences at the restaurants I have visited.
Ellicottville Brewing Company is a great place for me to start with. I have gone there a handful of times with friends and family. I’ll get into the details later but I just love it here and so do all my friends. I go to school near Ellicotttville and whenever we just want a nice but still casual lunch or dinner (or even just to grab a drink) EBC is always our first place in mind.
In this post I’m going to share with you what I ordered, my favorites from the menu, prices, the gluten free options (of course) and just some extra bonuses I think you would like to know!
This post is all about my experience at Ellicottville Brewing Company
Overall Experience
As I mentioned before I have been to EBC a handful of times, and every time I go it’s always a hit. It’s a great place to bring friends and family or even go on a date. The inside is beautiful and quite large they have a very distinct rustic but clean look to the restaurant. Nothing too fancy but it is still very clean and enjoyable in there. Their patio is absolutely amazing, it is one of my favorite places to eat outside. They have so much space and plenty of seating. There patio is a fenced-in area with concert patio flooring. They have an outside bar as well. They have lights and beautiful plants, as you can see from the picture below. Each table has an umbrella to keep the sun out of your eyes to make it a little easier to enjoy your meal. Overall the inside and outside of the restaurant is a 10/10!
What I Ordered
This time visiting EBC I ordered something I have never tried before for the sake of this post. On the menu, the name of my meal was the winter root veggie salad. I ordered it with no bacon bites, cheese on the side, and added chicken. The salad was delish, and definitely hit the spot. The veggies were cooked perfectly not too hard and not too mushy. The chicken I added was so tasty, it had a great seasoning on it and went perfectly with the salad. The dressing was the perfect touch and there was a perfect amount of it on the salad (which I personally really appreciate). The walnuts added a great crunch to the salad. I am dairy-sensitive so I try to moderate how much dairy I have. Crumbly blue cheese isn’t too bad for my stomach but I also get it on the side and add a very small amount. This is a personal thing I do, I did add a little bit of the cheese and it worked very well with all the other components. I didn’t add the bacon bites to my salad because I’m really not a big bacon-on-my-salad kind of gal, but I’m sure it would’ve added another great crunch and flavor element to the salad.
I guess the big question is would I order this meal again? My answer is YES! If I’m in the mood for a savory salad with a lot of flavor then this will be the first thing I order at EBC.
Pricing wise all I ordered to drink was a water but my total ended up being $23.76 before tip. The salad itself was $18.00 and the grilled chicken was +$4.00 and the tax was $1.76.
On the menu, the salad is described as:
“spice roasted parsnip, carrot, sweet potato, red onion, Bleu cheese crumbles, crispy bacon bites, and walnuts. Over tender leafy greens with a nutmeg and mint vinaigrette”
Favorites on the Menu
Since I have been here a couple of times I would say I know my way around the menu as a gluten free foodie. Below I will list my menu favorites.
- Appetizer: Fresh Guacamole
- Single: $14.00
- Double $18.00
- Salad (seasonal): Watermelon Salad
- Sandwich: Beef on Weck with fries
- $19.00
Gluten Free Options
EBC has plenty of gluten free options on the menu. They offer gluten free rolls as a substitute for their sandwiches and burgers. They don’t have gluten free substitutions for everything on the menu but that doesn’t bother me. All the staff is very nice so if you have further questions about the menu or any gluten free options or substitutions they are all happy to answer or check with the cooks in the back. This is something I really appreciate as working in a restaurant myself for a lot of my life. Even if someone doesn’t know the answer they are willing to take action and ask others so you can have the same experience as everyone else.
Conclusion
Overall, EBC is such a great restaurant to give a try, at this point for my friends and I it’s a classic. It’s always a hit and I will always recommend it when someone asks. From the great staff to great food Ellicottville Brewing Company is a great place to check out whenever you are in the Ellicottville area.
They also have a couple of different locations including:
- Ellicottville
- Little Valley
- Bemus Point
- Fredonia
Note: I have been to the Fredonia one and it was also a great experience but be aware that the menu differs from each location!
